Silver Price Today: Silver prices are witnessing an uptick a day before Raksha Bandhan. On the morning of August 27, silver stood at ₹259,900 per kilogram. On the MCX, silver futures for September delivery were trading at ₹241,491 per kilogram around 9:15 AM today, marking a rise of ₹1,864 or 0.77%. In the international market, the price of spot silver is $68.50 per ounce. Domestic prices for gold and silver are influenced by both local and global factors.

COMEX silver prices rose by over 1.40%, climbing from a previous close of $68.09 to $68.97. This slight increase follows a 1.4% decline in the previous session—a drop that had snapped a five-day winning streak.

Caution prevails in the bullion market due to geopolitical tensions between the US and Iran and fluctuations in the US dollar. The structure of silver demand in India stands at a unique juncture, balancing investor sentiment with industrial requirements. Approximately 18% of India's total silver consumption goes into jewelry and silverware, while the remainder is utilized in industrial sectors—such as electronics, photovoltaics (solar panels), and the rapidly expanding electric vehicle supply chain. Silver Futures Performance on Wednesday

Driven by traders increasing their positions amidst robust spot demand, the price of silver in futures trading rose by 0.53 percent on Wednesday, reaching ₹2,45,411 per kilogram. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the price of the silver contract for September delivery rose by ₹1,284, or 0.53 percent, to ₹2,45,411 per kilogram. Globally, the price of silver in New York increased by 0.73 percent to $69.16 per ounce.
